This 4 1/2" 'deck gun' (taken form a 'Tribal class' RN Frigate) was cased on site for the Priddys Hard maritime museum in Gosport.
The gun needed protection whilst builders restored the building around the gun and the restorers could carry on their work within the case.
This is the boom from an overhead crane that had to be stored outside of the building whilst essential maintenance work was carried out.
The boom (which is nearly 25 Mts. long) was encapsulated within a large 'foil bag' which had Silica gel desiccant added and then the air was pumped out to minimise moisture damage.
